She has taught in Wales at The Actors Workshop and the Academy of Musical Theatre, in NYC at HB Studios, Stella Adler Institute, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and for the Screen Actors Guild Conservatory in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New Mexico and is a featured artist at THE LAST FRONTIER THEATRE CONFERENCE in Valdez, Alaska. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress by the LA Weekly for her performance in ‘Fighting Words and was honored by MEDIA ACCESS for her 17 years of teaching actors with disabilities. Laura trained at Boston University, Rutgers, and H. B. Studios, where she studied with Uta Hagen and Carol Rosenfeld.
You may have seen Laura and her actor husband, Frank Collison, recurring on the NBC hit My Name is Earl. Her other tv credits include SHREDD as Jason Lee’s mom(series regular), LAW AND ORDER,LA, THE FORGOTTEN with Christian Slater, CRIMINAL MINDS, CRASH, ER, THE WEST WING, CLOSE TO HOME and many others. She just shot the films SUNLAND and GOD’S COUNTRY. She has appeared on and off bway, national tours and major theatres around the country. She was nominated for LA WEEKLY BEST ACTRESS for FIGHTING WORDS which also played at the Millenium Center in Wales.
Melbourne, Australia Laura taught 2 FOUNDATION classes for the new HOWARD FINE ACTING STUDIO AUSTRALIA during February and March 2012. She also taught an intensive audition workshop in Sydney aided and abetted by her husband, Frank Collison. Laura is headed back to Australia for more classes in Brisbane and Melbourne during September and October 2012.
